The Industrial Tours on the third day – Friday 18th October – are not a formal part of the workshop, but they are available to all delegates if they wish to take part in them.
You will need to make your own way to the tour locations for the tour times, but at each location you will be expected, and a tour has been arranged.
Note, due to the dispersed locations, each delegate will only be able to attend one tour.

Friday 18th October
11:00 Royal NLR Netherlands Aerospace Centre – Voorsterweg 31, 8316 PR Marknesse, Netherlands
Royal NLR is the primary Research & Technology Organization for aerospace research in the Netherlands, located in both Amsterdam and Marknesse. For the tour, we will visit the Marknesse site, where developments on the next generations of aircraft are ongoing. Amongst those are developments of hydrogen systems, composite tanks and aircraft structures, metal additive manufacturing, and cryogenic material testing at 20 K. Additionally NLR provides a range of environmental testing for example for DO160-G qualification: EMC, vibration and shock, thermal vacuum. The tour will pass through several facilities in the main NLR building.
11:00 GKN Hoogeveen Global Technology Centre – Europaweg 8A, 7903 TD, Hoogeveen, Netherlands
Global Technology Center Netherlands is one of GKN Aerospace’s four technology centers worldwide. The GTC-NL has teams in Hoogeveen and Papendrecht, with its headquarters and main research facility in Hoogeveen. The tour will start in the reception area, highlighting two of GKN Aerospace’s technology focus areas specific to the GTC-NL. These are thermoplastic composites and integrated wiring systems. The tour will then progress onto the lab shop floor and several thermoplastic composite processing developments will be shown: automated layup of flat and complex shapes, welding of assemblies, out-of-autoclave processing and a composite test laboratory.

Presentation Abstract Submission
To submit a talk proposal, please complete and submit this simple form by 31 July 2024. All abstracts will be considered by the Local Organising Committee, and a programme agreed. Admin will contact confirmed speakers by the end of August 2023, and thereafter work with each speaker to ensure programme requirements are fulfilled.
