About the EFATS Workshops
EFATS is an annual series of industrially-oriented workshops on the application of cryogenic, superconducting, electric powertrains, and associated technologies to air transport, aiming to identify engineering and commercial challenges and opportunities.
Cryogenic electric technologies – in particular super / hyper conducting power systems and motors – are likely to be key to the electrification of larger and / or longer-range aircraft.
History
EFATS2025 will be the fifth international workshop, returning to Scotland.
EFATS2024 was the fourth in the series, the first to be held outside the UK.
EFATS2023 was the third workshop in the series.
EFATS2021 was held online, and EFATS2022 was a hybrid workshop in Glasgow and online.
Financial Statement
Each EFATS workshop is organised by a local organising committee on a for-cost basis.
Macresco Ltd provides administrative, organisational, and financial services to each workshop.
An International Steering Committee oversees the workshop series, and the use of any financial surpluses they may generate for the benefit of the cryogenic powertrain community.
